My love for cooking began at a young age. And, growing up in Newport Oregon allowed me plenty of free time to experiment and
create. I continued to develop my cooking skills through high school. As a junior I made my first of three extended visits
to Japan. My first was as an exchange student where I came to enjoy the language, culture, and cuisine. This was followed
by a return visit as part of the Roseburg Sister Cities Association where I was the youngest and only Japanese speaking member
of the group. Later in college, I returned as an intern for one of the largest newspapers in Japan, serving the island of Hokkaido.
Upon Graduating with a degree in Japanese from the University of Oregon, I received a scholarship to the College of Business at
Oregon State University. Although the idea had been formulating for quite a while, this is where I was able to solidify my goal
of becoming a personal chef.
After receiving my Masters of Business Administration, I went on to study Personal Cheffing with the United States Personal Chef
Association. I traveled to their Phoenix campus and received intensive training on becoming a personal chef. Upon my return,
I took my business plan in hand and started Chef Becky Personal Chef Service.
I am a Premier Member of the United States Personal Chef
Association and participate regularly in chapter meetings. I also belong to the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce and am ServSafe
certified, which is the nationally recognized standard for food handlers.
I enjoy traveling abroad and in my spare time I enjoy
cooking for loved ones and friends.
