Getting ready for the Forth of July is a piece of cake, or crisp that is, with this delicious berry dessert recipe. Three
kinds of berries are sprinkled with sugar, and then topped with a brown sugar, oatmeal, and cinnamon topping.
Triple Berry Crisp
5 cups berries (mix of blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, etc. Thaw if frozen.)
1/3 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1 cup oats
3/4 cups brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
3/4 cup butter
Ice cream, or whipped cream
Combine the berries and sugar. Stir well to distribute the sugar.
In a large bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cut in butter until crumbly.
Pour sugared berries in the bottom of a 13 X 9 inch pan. Sprinkle oat mixture over the berries.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, or until fruit is bubbly and topping is golden brown.
Let stand at least 30 minutes before serving.
