How about a hot filling breakfast with a Christmas twist? Making French toast with eggnog instead of milk is the perfect
recipe to serve on Christmas morning.
Eggnog French Toast
4 slices bread
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup eggnog
Butter for frying, and for topping toast
Syrup
Powdered sugar for dusting, optional
In a shallow casserole dish, whisk the eggs and cinnamon together. Add the eggnog and whisk until thoroughly combined. Arrange bread slices in the dish. Let them soak for 2 minutes, and then turn over to soak 2 more minutes. Preheat a large, nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add a tablespoon of butter. Place two slices of bread in the skillet, and cook for 3-4 minutes per side. Repeat with remaining bread.
Serve with syrup and powdered sugar.
